Scientific Initiation Program - Affirmative Action (PIBIC - AF)

The Institutional Program for Scientific Initiation - PIBIC in Affirmative Actions - PIBIC - Af is directed to public universities that are beneficiaries of PIBIC quotas and that have affirmative action programs. It is a pilot program that provides for the distribution of Science Initiation - CI fellowships to institutions that meet these requirements and are interested in participating in the program.

JUSTIFICATION

The construction of Affirmative Action policies is a commitment signed by the Federal Government. Its objective is to increase the participation of social groups in spaces traditionally unoccupied by them, whether due to direct discrimination or the result of a historical process to be corrected.

PIBIC in Affirmative Actions is a program whose mission is to complement affirmative actions already existing in universities. Its purpose is to offer students who are beneficiaries of these policies the possibility of participating in academic activities of scientific initiation. This Program is part of PIBIC and is the result of a partnership between the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development of the Ministry of Science and Technology - CNPq / MCTI and the Subsecretariat for Affirmative Action Policies of the Secretariat for Policies for the Promotion of Racial Equality - SUBPAA / SEPPIR-PR.

GOALS

a) Expand the opportunity of technical-scientific training of students, whose insertion in the academic environment was by an affirmative action to enter Higher Education;

b) Contribute to the scientific training of human resources among the beneficiaries of affirmative action policies of any professional activity;

c) Increase the access and integration of students who are beneficiaries of affirmative action policies to the scientific culture, and strengthen the policy of affirmative action existing in the institutions.

DURATION OF THE BALANCE SHEET

The scholarship will have a duration of 12 (twelve) months (if implemented from the first month of validity of the institutional process) beginning on August 1st.

The Scientific Initiation Scholarship for the undergraduate student corresponds to the constant value of the Scholarship Values Table in the Country.

INSTITUTIONS

Requirements for Institutions: already participating in PIBIC and / or PIBITI; have a policy of Affirmative Actions implemented aimed at the entry of students from groups traditionally excluded from the academic space in undergraduate; be of a public nature, and have a policy of scientific iRESEARCHER

Conditions of participation: The Public Call for proposals for the registration process takes place in the first semester of each year, in general, between the months of March and April.

RESEARCHERS

Requirements for the supervisor: to be linked to the teaching and / or research institution that participates in PIBIC-Af; develop scientific research, and preferably be a Research Productivity Scholarship from CNPq.

Conditions of participation: participate in the selection process carried out at your link institution. Institutional selection processes occur in the first semester of each year. Be aware of the deadlines set in your institution.

STUDENTS

Requirements for the student: to take a degree; dedicate themselves fully to academic and research activities, and have been beneficiaries of affirmative action policy for admission to Higher Education.

Participation conditions: look for, in your area of interest, a researcher who is willing to integrate you into your research and guide you.
