AGEUFMA

The Seminar of Scientific Initiation (SEMIC) is an annual activity of the Research, Graduate and Innovation Pro-Rectorate (PPPGI), whose purpose is to disseminate research in progress and enable the exchange of experiences between researchers (teachers and students) of the different areas of knowledge of the Federal University of Maranhão.

For UFMA, it is an institutional challenge and a symbol of the resistance of the researchers that despite the gradual and significant cuts in investments in Brazilian research in the last years, believe that from the scientific formation it is possible to form a more just, egalitarian and ethical society.

The SEMIC is a time of interaction between students and teachers of UFMA and other state institutions, through presentations of works, mini-courses and lectures, in order to contribute to the training of young researchers and qualified human resources , stimulating the development of research and scientific initiation in Maranhão.
